Note of thanks from Sri Lankan alumnus

A CQUniversity alumnus thanked the University this week for giving him a "better quality work life".
Jehan Jeachelvam completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Rockhampton back in 2008 and has since been working as a finance manager with a humanitarian organisation in Sri Lanka that clears the remnants of conflict from communities.
Jeehan Jegachelvam (3rd from right)"After graduation I was able to secure a job with the British organisation Mines Advisory Group (MAG) and I am still working for them today," Jehan reports.
MAG is an agency that is actively involved in humanitarian de-mining in post-conflict areas of a northern province in Sri Lanka.
Before studying in Rockhampton, Jehan was employed as an accountant in the tourism industry, but the sector was devastated by the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami and rebel force conflicts.
He came to Rockhampton on an IDP Tsunami Scholarship and, during his study, endured being away from his wife and daughter for long periods of time.
His efforts paid off however when he was awarded with the senior position with MAG.
"The job at MAG is an opportunity to put my knowledge and experience into action. The knowledge acquired in both academic and lifestyle from CQUniversity has benefited my life incredibly.
"CQUni opened the door for organised thinking and a research mentality which has helped me much in my managerial job."
