Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Film unit due at CQU Rockhampton 

A film unit working on a drama for SBS TV plans to shoot scenes at several outdoor campus locations next Wednesday May 19.

CQU drama students will be involved as support crew members and in various cast roles.

The film unit is working on a production called The Djarn Djarns which is written and directed by former Rockhampton local Wayne Blair.

The filming is also taking place at Dreamtime Cultural Centre, Yaamba, Mount Morgan and in and around Rockhampton.

The Djarn Djarns will receive a national screening on SBS and be shown in film festivals around the world.
