Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

43 graduates to attend Fiji ceremony 

A total of 43 graduates, all from the Faculty of Business & Informatics, are due to attend a CQU Fiji International Campus graduation next Monday, November 20.

PhotoID:3568 The ceremony will be held from 4.30pm at the Tradewinds Convention Centre in Suva. The Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor will officiate.

This year's guest speaker is Stuart Huggett, a qualified architect who is currently the Director of Architects Pacific Limited.

Mr Huggett has worked in Fiji and the Pacific Islands as an architect since 1969 and has designed, documented and administered the construction of a large number of institutional and educational projects.

The guest speaker is Chairman of the Public Service Commission. He is an Associate member of the Royal Institute of Architects in Britain, Australia and New Zealand; Chairman of the Fiji Joint Contracts Tribunal and a member of the Board of Governors of the International School, Suva and the Fiji Association of Architects.
