Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

"Dunk"ing in Sydney 

CQU Sydney International Campus welcomes Dr Alan Dunk as the new Sub-Dean for the Faculty of Business and Law. Dr Dunk has a PhD in Accounting and has held the positions of Head of School and Director of Research of the Schools of Accounting and Finance at the University of Western Sydney and the University of Tasmania as well as Dean of the Faculty of Commerce at both Universities.

PhotoID:110 He has travelled extensively from the USA, Canada, Europe and Asia to present at conferences and has been an external examiner of Masters and PhD theses for three universities in Australia.

As a guest lecturer and Professor, Dr Dunk has taught at Suffolk University (Boston, USA), Bryant College (Rhode Island, USA), Massey University (Palmerston North, NZ), Queen’s University (Ontario, Canada), Edinburgh University (Scotland) and California State University (California, USA). He has been the recipient of four research grants from Macquarie University and has twice received the prize of “best paper” at the Annual Conference of Accounting Academics in Hong Kong. Dr Dunk is married and has five children. He and wife Pauline are excited to have the whole family back together again after working interstate. Dr Dunk says he’s forward to new challenges at CQU and the experience of working at a campus with so many international students.
