Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU a State finalist for Premier's Export Awards 

CQU recently won the Education and Services category in its regional round of the 2006 Premier of Queensland's Export Awards.

It was a finalist for the State-level awards (announced on October 12) but the Education category went to James Cook University this year.

PhotoID:3626 State-level category winners and the overall Queensland Exporter of the Year will be eligible for the Australian Exporter of the Year Awards to be presented later in the year.

The Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards, now in their 17th year, are the longest running and most prestigious form of recognition for the State’s exporters.

The Central Queensland Export Awards were presented during a gala dinner at Rockhampton's historic Archer Park railway station on Saturday evening (October 7). The Education and Services category was sponsored by Central Queensland Ports Authority.

CQU has won export awards at regional, State and national level in recent years.
