Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Sweet sales go to good cause 

CQU Multimedia Design Centre staff member Karen Reynolds has raised money for the Children’s Leukemia and Cancer Society.

PhotoID:1880 Karen raises the money through a series of morning teas and by selling lollies and ice creams to her work colleagues.

She has done this for the past three years now and raises about a $1000 per year.

Karen recently presented a cheque to Children’s Leukemia and Cancer Society representative Jenny Hilcher (who lost a young child to leukemia).
