Rocky expo highlights career pathways

Hundreds of school students and adults from all over Rockhampton and the Central Queensland region attended the Rockhampton Careers Expo recently.

The expo highlighted pathways to future careers and study options.

PhotoID:3342 CQU was joined by other Queensland universities, TAFE, private training and education providers, recruitment agencies, the Army, Airforce and Navy, Queensland Police, careers advisors and other businesses at the exhibition.

All were eager to help people seeking information.

Program Administrator for the Faculty of Arts, Health and Education Kerrie Bloxsom said the expo was a success and beneficial for CQU.

“We were approached by many school leavers, as well as their parents, wanting to obtain more information about the programs we have to offer. There was also a lot of interest from people wanting a change in their career path or to further their qualifications,” she said.

PhotoID:3343 The university had representatives from each faculty attending the expo to ensure potential students were advised by staff members who specialised in each field.
