Central Queensland Indigenous Development (CQID) Ltd and CQUniversity Australia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, as they work together to consider a possible location of CQID's proposed Community Enterprise & Inclusion Centre at CQUniversity Rockhampton...
The Centre project aims to form a single point of contact in Central Queensland which represents Indigenous community, agencies and service organisations.

Bringing together organisations that have common values, goals, services and vision, the Centre would build and develop a voice for Indigenous issues in Central Queensland with linkages to regional development, government, private enterprise and economic and social capacity building opportunities.
According to CQID, the Australian Government funded Centre would offer a suite of services to the Indigenous and wider community, including clients, consumers, governments, private industry, specialist groups etc from one location.
Research conducted on behalf of CQID has identified issues of organisational sustainability, service access, duplication of services and continuity of service provision as potential threats for social inclusion of Aboriginal and Islander people in Central Queensland.
Organisers believe the Centre would position the Rockhampton Region as a leader in Best Practice Innovative Social Inclusion, supporting community aspirations for Rockhampton as the world's most liveable community.
Rockhampton-based CQID is a Financial and Business Administration Hub, operating as a not-for-profit organisation, that assists indigenous individuals and community organisations.
