Published on 20 October, 2005
AUQA (the Australian University Quality Agency) visited CQU Rockhampton this week on the final leg of its scheduled audit of CQU campuses and operations.
AUQA is a national independent agency that conducts audits of higher learning institutions to determine the quality standard of activities in that organisation. It is a part of the national quality assurance framework for Australia.
An AUQA Audit is a systematic and independent examination to determine whether activities and related results comply with planned arrangements and whether these arrangements are implemented effectively and are suitable to meet objectives.
During the audit process AUQA looks at the objectives, plans, actions and outcomes of the institution, and makes a finding on whether they are reaching their objectives.
The AUQA panel auditing CQU includes:.
Professor Jan Thomas, Murdoch University (Panel Chair).
Mr Graeme Dennehy, University of New England (Deputy Chair).
Mr Martin Carroll, AUQA (Audit Director).
Ms Felicity McGregor, University of Woolongong.
Professor Muhammad Kamil Tadjudin, University of Indonesia.
AUQA's audit of CQU started in September with visits to overseas operations and has also included inspections of CQU's Australian international campuses and CQU Mackay.
The results of AUQA's audit of CQU will be made public once the panel has completed its report early next year.
