Sunshine Coast at forefront of teaching best practice
Published on 23 July, 2007
Teachers, school managers, academics and education policy makers from the Sunshine Coast have a great professional development opportunity next month.
They will be able to join colleagues from elsewhere in Australia to look at teaching success based on proven, evidence-based practices.
There will be practical hands-on workshops during the event, from August 22-24.
They will also hear from leading educational experts including American Dr Robert Marzano, author of many books including 'The Art and Science of Teaching', 'Teaching with Dimensions of Learning' and 'Classroom Instruction that Works'. Other speakers will represent the Australian Council for Educational Research and Central Queensland University's Learning Management program.
The inaugural 'Learning Management: Pedagogy that works' conference will be held at the Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast, and is hosted by CQU Noosa Hub.
The conference will explore what research says about 'what actually does make a difference for student learning'. It includes a focus on the Dimensions of Learning and Instructional Design, as these are some cutting-edge aspects of learning.
Anyone interested in the business of learning is welcome to attend.
