Sam Ng is a high achiever. The graduate from CQU Melbourne International Campus completed his Bachelor of Business (Accounting) in December 2002 and, in his final years of study, obtained distinctions and high distinctions.
Sam has been in Australia since 1992, and completed Year 12 at Taylors College. He began his tertiary studies at Chalmers Institute and then transferred to CQU which has proved to be advantageous.
\"I think I had a head start with CPA studies when it came to the standard of education I received at CQU,\" Sam said. \"Although delivery of courses and course material is of a high standard, the level of success is dependant on a student’s approach and commitment to their studies.\".
Sam also praised the teaching staff. He found lecturers and tutors to be friendly, well informed and thorough.
Comparisons were also drawn between students studying CPA subjects at other universities.
“I believe that the academic standards at these universities are on a par and, at times, lower than those at CQU,\" said Sam. \"When the content of study guides and resource material was compared, the CQU publications were far superior.\".
When he graduated, Sam returned to Malaysia and worked as a casual employee with an Asian firm before returning to Australia and taking up a full-time position with BYB Associates, focusing on taxation.
\"I have to do two years\' work experience and successfully complete five subjects to receive accreditation as a Certified Practising Accountant,\" he explained. He will complete this course of study this semester.
Sam has so far received outstanding results in his CPA exams.
