Students will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on workshops in a range of science fields.

CQUniversity Marketing Coordinator Amelia Tomlinson said the Science Experience program will enable students to work with CQUniversity lecturers and chat with guest speakers who work in relevant fields.

It is anticipated workshops will include motor and bridge construction, physiology and pharmacology of the heart, measuring the antibacterial activity of body fluids, looking for health problems from potential natural disasters, and environmental health.

"The program will also provide information about further studies in science, technology and engineering," Ms Tomlinson said.

"We hope to provide some insight into what careers are on offer for students who want to pursue their interest in the sciences."

The program also gives students the opportunity to meet and share ideas with other students from different schools.

Applications for the program are open until December 14, 2009.  For more details and application information visit www.scienceexperience.com.au .
