Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Teens back on campus for annual biz wiz quiz

Rockhampton region high school students will be back on campus again next week for the annual Business Challenge (Tuesday, May 25, 6pm-9pm).

Organised by the Faculty of Arts, Business Informatics & Education, the Challenge is a competition for business-orientated year 12 students with skills in a range of areas including; accounting, business information technology; legal studies, general business studies and general knowledge.

The students will gather at the CQ Community Sports Centre on campus to compete in eight rounds of questions for a variety of great prizes.

Last year's winner North Rockhampton State High School will be joined by other competitors from Rockhampton Girls Grammar; Emmaus College; The Cathedral College; Rockhampton Grammar; Rockhampton State High; St Ursula's College and Heights College.

The Business Challenge is proudly supported by CPA Australia; Kennas and The Rock.
