Melbourne students cheer on Aussie sport

The Victorian Bushrangers may have lost their recent Twenty20 battle with the South Australian Redbacks recently, but it was a big win for a group of CQUniversity Melbourne students who were lucky enough to be part of the crowd at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground).
The international students were accompanied to the cricket match by TECC coordinator Michelle Beatty and enjoyed visiting the iconic stadium and learning more about one of Australia's favourite games.
As part of the continuing GloBALL program, run by Cricket Victoria in conjunction with Essendon Football Club and the AFL, the group also had their own GloBALL ambassadors who stayed with them during the match and helped to explain the game.
Some students got into the spirit of the evening by having their faces painted, whilst others took advantage of the offer to tour the National Sports Museum - a must for new visitors to Australia.
The evening was enjoyed by all and was a great way to kick off what will hopefully be another exciting year of student sporting and recreation activities including AFL activities in the coming months.
Any students wishing to participate in the GloBALL program or other student activities should contact the Student Services office directly on Level 1 at CQUniversity's campus in Melbourne.
