Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Rockhampton campus tour planned for public 

CQU’s Community Program will offer a comprehensive CQU Rockhampton campus tour to interested persons on Tuesday April 18.

The tour will give participants the ability to enter areas not generally open to the public and witness the operations of the university.

A coach will pick up participants at KMart Plaza at 9am and will travel to the animal and plant science areas, where visitors will see the outdoor greenhouses, fish ponds, laboratories and the teaching museum.

The tour will also take in the library, refectory, cafes, shops, service centres and residential college where participants will enjoy a traditional student lunch, finishing up at the CQ Sports Centre before travelling back to KMart by about 2.45pm.
