The categories are :

Career Achievement Award

Regional Initiative Award

While CQU provides ‘expert' judges for some of the categories, nominations are being encouraged from staff and students as an opportunity to promote the many achievers here at CQU.

Entrants must be between 14 and 26 years of age and a resident in Queensland for a minimum of 2 years.

Nominations close August 10 and the final is on September 22.

Organisers tell us that you don't have to be a Rhodes Scholar to win.  In Premier Beattie's words, "Accomplishments early in life hint at even greater achievements in years to come.  The Young Achiever Awards program is a great way for Queensland to publicly recognise and reward our talented young people and encourage them to continue their journey toward future success."

Full information, including application details are found on http://www.awardsaustralia.com/ and then go to the Queensland site.
