Around 60 science teachers converged on CQUniversity Rockhampton this week (July 12) to refresh their knowledge of diverse topics ranging from soil health, plant disease and biodiesels to green coal, reptiles and quantum computing.
Presenters from CQUniversity, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Stanwell, Glenmore High and Rockhampton Regional Council helped with the annual District Science Teachers Forum.
Other topics covered new toxic cyanobacteria; the Reef Guardian Schools Program; immunology of marsupials and senior chemistry perspectives.
The forum was organised by Rockhampton High's Stephen Ladley, CQUniversity senior lecturer Dr Bob Newby and University promotions and recruitment officer Emily Franke.
