Engineering students inducted into Uni life

First year engineering students were inducted into university life with a week of team based activities and workshops from March 3 to 7.

The activities included, as well as regular classes, team building exercises, rock climbing and a design and build competition where the students worked in teams to solve an engineering problem.

"We encourage an environment of project based learning whereby students work in teams to solve real world engineering problems. Induction week allows us to 'get off on the right foot' by ensuring the students to get to know each other as they'll be working together for the duration of their degrees.

As well as the local students, engineering students studying at CQU campuses in Mackay and Gladstone travelled to Rockhampton to participate in activities. The week ends with a barbecue lunch provided by the Engineering Undergraduate Society.
