"There were only 2 of us, and my opponent is a very experienced shooter who has always shot really good scores, so I didn't expect to get anywhere close to her, however I was impressed and happy that she only beat me by 8 points," Sharon said.

"I shot a personal best score on the first day, 340 in the 1 arrow round, which for a barebow shooter is pretty good score."

Sharon's husband Mark also took out silver in the C-grade Compound competition. His scores were higher than his grade, and with the introduction of a new grading rule this year, he has now advanced to B grade.

"Two of our children also shoot. Brenton (19) also shot personal bests on the weekend and in a tough Bowhunter Unlimited competition he did very well and was only about 50 points off the leader of approximately 15 in that division. Kyle (16) also shot well. This is his last year as a junior, also shooting Bowhunter Unlimited and was actually the third highest score out of 93 shooters that attended the competition, so shot very well."
