Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Faces of Mackay graduation  

Mining executive Tony Caruso was guest speaker for CQUniversity Mackay's recent graduation ceremony. A total of 94 students celebrated their graduation and Nursing student Melissa Harris delivered an address on behalf of graduates.

Mackay Campus academic Dr Steven Pace received the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching during the ceremony. Dr Pace was awarded for arranging a series of digital media master classes by 'superstar' role models who have worked on Oscar-winning films.
