Cool weather burn planned for Rocky

Queensland Fire and Rescue and CQUniversity have planned for a cool weather burn on Rockhampton Campus this Sunday (July 24), to remove hazard vegetation before the fire season.

Exercises, such as these, are designed to reduce fuel load, and are especially relevant to us given the fires in the Rockhampton area in recent years.

Sufficient fire crews will be on hand to ensure this is a controlled burn.

Recently trained volunteer rural fire fighters will be involved with the exercise. This will give them some experience and build their knowledge.
