Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

All urged to support Pink Ribbon Day 

Rockhampton people have at least 2 changes to get involved in Pink Ribbon Day - the breast cancer awareness/fundraiser.

Both are supported by CQU staff members.

On Sunday, October 21, CQU Associate Professor Peter Reaburn is the guest speaker for a Pink Ribbon Day Luncheon at Rockhampton Leagues Club, arranged by The Cancer Council Queensland.

Participants are encouraged to dress in pink and bring along a decorated bra for a 'most creative' prize draw.

Sunday's event will be from 11am-2.30pm and details/bookings are available via 4927 7088.

The following day, Monday October 22, CQU's Office of Development is hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast fundraiser from 8am-9am at the Capricornia College Senior Common Room.

DVC Professor Angela Delves is the guest speaker for the breakfast function.
