Teachers can hear from experts on tech-age learning

Residents of Rockhampton, Mackay, Gladstone, Bundaberg and Emerald are welcome to attend free presentations by visiting experts about the challenges of teaching in our increasingly technological age.
Professor Kerri-Lee Krause, Director of the Griffith Institute for Higher Education, will talk about enhancing engagement by first-years, from 1pm-2pm on Monday, August 20.
Dr Kathleen Gray, from the University of Melbourne's Biomedical Multimedia Unit, will talk about challenges raised by academic use of blogging, audio and video podcasting, social bookmarking, social networking and wiki-writing forms, from Noon -2pm on Monday August 27.
From Noon -2pm on Tuesday, August 28, Dr Gray will also discuss 'Digital Natives': first-year students' experiences and preferences in relation to information and communications technologies.
The presentations will be delivered at CQU Rockhampton and videoconferenced live to lecture rooms at CQU campuses in Mackay, Gladstone, Bundaberg and Emerald.
