Chinese Ministry of Education officials visit CQU Rockhampton

Chinese Ministry of Education officials visited CQU Rockhampton this week as part of a tour of Queensland to meet education and training providers.
The delegation included Ministry of Education Officials and education agents.
The purpose was to familiarise the visitors with the education industry in Queensland and for providers to promote Queensland education options.
Among the delegation were Mr Che Weimin, the Director of Chinese Service Centre for Scholarly Exchanges (CSCSE), and Mr Liu Shaohua, the Director Supervisory Office of Overseas Education International Department Ministry of Education (Beijing).
The aim for the CQ visit was to showcase the region’s education and training options and its significance to the Chinese market.
CQU and Rockhampton Regional Development hosted a dinner at the Dreamtime Cultural Centre for the delegates on Monday night.
On Tuesday, CQU Deputy Vice Chancellor Jack Wood led a presentation and discussion forum at CQU. In the presentation, CQU focused on the considerable number of Chinese students enrolled at CQU and the variety of courses and training available to both students and industry from China. After the presentation, CQU showcased the Centre for Railway engineering and the Molecular Biology department.
Central Queensland International Education Training Australia (CQIETA), is a cluster group of Rockhampton Regional Development with a membership of over 80 education and training providers in Central Queensland. CQIETA and Rockhampton Regional Development representatives were available to discuss programs developing in the fields of Workplace Health and Safety, Aviation and Middle Management training.
