Bridge completes pond face-lift

Rebuilding a footbridge at CQU Mackay was the final project completed in a face-lift for a pond located near the Faculty of Education & Creative Arts.

PhotoID:465 Part of the project saw Buildings Officer Steve Oberg wading neck-deep in water in readiness for refilling the pond to capacity.

“The bridge needed to be replaced as it was looking worn from being over the water for so many years,” he said.

“We drained the water as much as possible as this allowed us to work on the bridge and to clean leaf litter from the pond.” The pond provides a tranquil setting for the surrounding Faculties, Centre for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence and CQU residential college.
