CQ region health workers have new professional development service

Health workers throughout Central Queensland will have less need to travel to Brisbane for their professional development, thanks to a new service from CQU.

The University has started a Professional Nursing and Continuing Education Centre, which aims to provide monthly courses delivered by specialists in a variety of fields.

The Centre is based at the nursing building on CQU Rockhampton but courses can be arranged in other regional centres according to demand.

The new service will begin with a course on Diabetes Management (March 10).

Other sessions are planned on chronic disease management, clinical assessment, wound management, cardiac rhythms, career development, palliative care, mental health and respiratory care.

Details about courses and costs are available via 07 4930 6458 or professionalnursing@cqu.edu.au ENDS For details call Jacqui Ryan or Tansy Manning on 4930 6458.
