Applications for CQU Research funding available NOW!

Applications are now invited for tens of thousands of dollars in CQU Research grants and awards, according to the Office of Research.

Research by early career researchers is being encouraged and rewarded through the CQU Seed Grants Scheme and the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Emerging Researchers, both of which called for applications this week.

The CQU Seed Grants Scheme offers funding of up to $10,000 for one year projects beginning from 1 January 2005. The Scheme is intended to develop the research profile of early career researchers at Central Queensland University. Applications to this internal competitive funding scheme have a very high success rate, according to the Office of Research, so all eligible researchers are encouraged to consider applying.

In recognition of the contribution that early career researchers make to the research culture at CQU the Office of Research is also currently calling for nominations for The Vice-Chancellor's Award for Emerging Researchers. The Award, which includes a glass trophy, will be presented at a graduation ceremony later this year.

In addition this week, applications have been invited for the CQU/Industry Collaborative Grants Scheme for funding in 2005. This grant was introduced to encourage active research collaboration between the University and eligible industry partners. Up to $10,000 will be provided to competitive quality research projects that attract matching funds from industry sources. Successful applicants will receive funding, available for one year, starting January 2005.

"The Collab grants offer opportunities to foster new collaborative relationships with industry that you may not have been able to develop without this funding", says Dr Leonie Andersen, a previously successful applicant.

Guidelines and nomination forms for all of these grants and awards are available from the Office of Research homepage at http://research.cqu.edu.au/index.htm
