Central Highlands bursary up for grabs

Central Queensland University is seeking nominations for this year’s QCWA Central Highlands Division Bursary.

The bursary is offered to a current full-time, first year student enrolled at the University, who originates from the Central Highlands and will be continuing into full-time study with CQU next year.

PhotoID:410 The Central Highlands is defined as the area bounded by Moranbah in the north, Dingo in the east, Rolleston and Springsure in the south, and Rubyvale, Clermont and Capella in the west.

CQU Finance and Prizes Officer Gerry Wallis said the QCWA – Central Highlands Division generously offers a bursary of a once-off $500 payment to recognise a student’s academic achievement.

Ms Wallis said the bursary was an excellent initiative for students from the Central Highlands and believed it was a great start for the year for the winning student.

“The bursary could be used to purchase text books and other study materials for the upcoming year.” Nominees are required to submit a 500-word statement supporting their application.

Application forms are available from Student Administration, or by phoning Gerry Wallis on (07) 4930 9395. Applications close 21 February 2003.
