Former CQU Mackay graduates open IT business

After becoming best friends during three years of tertiary studies, three recent Central Queensland University graduates have opened their own information technology consulting business.

What began as a hobby two years ago for David Elms has become a fledging business since joining forces with former study companions Linda McKenna and Luke Venables four months ago.

PhotoID:1422 “We used to talk about opening our own business while studying at CQU and as our study progressed the three of us became inseparable, so we were used to working together on complex issues,” Mr Elms said.

“I thought I knew a lot about computers until I went to university. Now we have enough confidence in our own abilities to fill a gap in the Mackay computing market.

“Apart from supplying quality goods at competitive prices, we offer exceptional service; this is something we noticed was lacking in our industry.

“Although we learnt a great deal about computers at university, matters relating to business ethics and commitment were drummed into us too and certainly I believe this makes our service stand out.”.

PhotoID:1423 Mr Elms said low overheads, quality components and back-up-service was proving attractive to new clients.

Oranom Technologies offers complete computing services for home through to corporate users.
