"Fellow" adds to solid Foundation

Anne Gribbin, Executive Director of the Central Queensland University Foundation, has been appointed Fellow of the Fundraising Institute—Australia in Canberra this week “Anne’s service goes beyond the call. Having raised some $60-million in her career, her ability to organise and structure fundraising is excellent,” explained Wayne Clarke, CEO of Fundraising Institute—Australia.

The members of the Institute are men and women who are engaged substantially, if not wholly, in the profession of Fundraising. For the most part, they work for and with, not-for- profit organisations within the charitable, medical, arts, educational, religious, community and welfare service as well as sporting and social fields. Ms Gribbin was recognised for her instrumental role in developing and implementing the Diploma for Fundraising Management, a national program run by the Institute, and for her role as President of the FIA branch in Victoria.

“The work I do means the world to me. It’s about ensuring the future of our communities,” she said.

Philanthropy is changing significantly according to the FIA. People are no longer giving to charities or causes; they are buying into results.

“Our challenge is to capture courageous and innovative ideas and offer involvement to potential donors,” explained Ms Gribbin, who is currently researching the attitudes and trends of philanthropy. She was recently awarded the inaugural PhD scholarship from the Asian-Pacific Centre for Philanthropy and Social Investment at Swinburne Universitty.

“Anne has helped train fundraisers nationally. And the industry recognises her for her dedication and professionalism and her commitment,” explained long time friend and colleague Michael LeCouteur, of Sydney’s Three Dimensional Fundraising.

As Director of the CQU Foundation, Anne is responsible for attracting new partners and facilitating agreements with individuals and organisations wanting to contribute to the university in ways that benefit the community.

The CQU Foundation recently contributed $2.25million dollars to the renovation of the Heritage Post Office in Rockhampton, which will be home to the recently announced Central Queensland Partnership. The Partnership is a joint CQU, public and private partnership that will deliver professional development and community health information to regional health professionals.
