Former Russian not rushing - Yulia gave paramedic studies a test drive

Yulia Danilova grew up in the Russian port city of Vladivostok and arrived in Australia with her family as a teenager - 'the worst time to be moving schools'.

Despite having to brush up on English at a language centre, Yulia did have one ace up her sleeve as her Russian-taught maths skills proved to be more advanced than the Australian school standard.

Having completed school in Adelaide, Yulia decided to volunteer as an ambulance officer to try out her chosen career path as a paramedic.

Now enrolled in a Bachelor of Paramedic Science degree as a Flex student with CQUniversity, while still living and working in Adelaide, she is continuing as a volunteer with the ambulance.

Yulia recently attended her first Paramedic Science residential school at CQUniversity's Rockhampton Campus and said she enjoyed meeting other students from around Australia.
