Student Association awards presented

The Central Queensland University Student Association staged its annual CQU Student Association presentation evening last Saturday (October 9).
More than 100 people attended the formal dinner (at the CQU Rockhampton Campus BirdCage Bar) which recognised the outstanding academic and sporting efforts of more than 30 students.
The successful recipients of the various award categories presented on the night include:.
STUDENT SCHOLARHIPS.
Rachel Taylor of CQU Mackay Campus;.
Joshua Sear of CQU Rockhampton Campus;.
Caterina Nicolo of CQU Rockhampton Campus;.
Stacey Rigney of CQU Rockhampton Campus;.
were each awarded with $1000 ‘CQUSA Student Scholarship’;.
(and Steven Brambrick was awarded with the $2000 ‘CQUSA /Morning Bulletin Student Scholarship’), for their outstanding academic achievements and contribution to the community and/or university life throughout the year.
STUDENT CLUB AWARDS:.
Timothy Riseley, President of the CQU College Members Association, received the award for ‘Club Executive of the Year’ for 2004.
The CQU College Members Association also received the award for ‘Club of the Year’ for the second consecutive year.
The strength of the CMA Club continues to improve due to the dedication of all club members throughout the year.
The CQU Touch Club received the ‘Sporting Club of the Year’ award, with members celebrating their victory for a second consecutive year.
SPORTING SCHOLARSHIPS & HALF BLUE AWARD:.
Sporting Scholarships were presented on the night to Margot Reeves (for excellence in the sport of karate) and Naomi Schouten (for excellence in the sport of disabled wheelchair sports). The prestigious Half Blue award was presented to Mikhaila Parsons for outstanding achievements in golf.
HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP:.
The night also provides the opportunity to acknowledge members of the CQU Student Association and the University that have made a significant contribution to students of CQU. The recipients of Honorary Life Membership for 2004 are Nardia Streat, past CQUSA Board Director, and Professor Glenice Hancock, past Vice-Chancellor and President of Central Queensland University.
