CQU Information Technology Division has once again provided a live webcast for the Brahman Week Cattle Sale at Gracemere Saleyards near Rockhampton this week.

Details of the sale are at: http://www.brahman.com.au/

General Manager for the Australian Brahman Breeders Association John Croaker said the sale was the biggest multi-vendor sale for the region.

"We are selling about 1000 bulls over 3 days ... we anticipate it grossing about $6 million."

He said CQU's webcast allowed buyers to get connected with the sale without actually being there.

CQU Flexible Delivery Services manager Shaune Sinclair said CQU had partnered with the Australian Brahman Breeders Association for the past 3 years to provide the sale's webcast.

"CQU provides technical expertise, hosts the webcast server and provides the broadband connection to the Internet," Mr Sinclair explained.

CQU Information Technology Director Peter Edwards said: "We are keen to collaborate in this project to engage with the community, to demonstrate and promote CQU's flexible delivery technologies and our expertise, and to research the practical applications of the technology."

On the first day of the sale the webcast recorded 150 unique visitors.
