Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mackay's industry experienced encouraged to upskill 

People living and working in the Mackay region can now add to their industry experience with Post-Graduate Management programs offered at CQUniversity.

The Graduate Certificate of Management and the Graduate Diploma in Management are being delivered in the form of coursework supported by workshops at the CQUniversity, Mackay Campus. 

Students wishing to undertake a Master of Business Administration (MBA) are also able to attend these workshops.

CQUniversity's Senior Lecturer in Management and Organisational Behaviour, Dr Paul Waight, said the post-graduate programs are a highly regarded qualification for employees looking to upskill while allowing them to continue working full-time.

"The Graduate Certificate of Management covers the management of people, operations and finance via the study of three courses."

"Participants can receive a highly regarded post-graduate management qualification in as little as 10 months."

Those who wish to continue on to the Graduate Diploma qualification will undertake three additional courses covering the management of human resources, marketing and economics for business.

On-line applications for Term 1, 2013 will close at midnight on February 17.
