Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Rocky and Mackay staff join Steps challenge 

Staff from the Rockhampton and Mackay campuses were among more than 900 from 90 teams to join CQU's 10 000 Steps Workplace Challenge this week.

PhotoID:1457 Staff members have been challenged to use pedometers and in their teams accumulate five million steps (the equivalent of walking across Australia) over an 8-12 week period. Participants will log their steps in the Step Log on the 10,000 Steps website (www.10000steps.org.au).
