Students can now 'bridge' to Uni from a distance

Central Queensland University's acclaimed STEPS bridging program is to be available to external students in 2006.

It is believed to be Australia’s first external course of this type to be available free of tuition and textbook charges.

Previously, students have had to attend CQU campuses to complete the STEPS (Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies) program.

STEPS is for adults (over 18) who have not completed senior schooling, or who have been away from formal study for a long time.

It provides a pathway into university study and has changed the lives of thousands of students over the past decade.

Successful applicants will be supported by a designated STEPS External Program Coordinator.
