CQU Bachelor of Business (Accounting) students were this week treated to a special presentation by partners and staff from Taits Accountants.
The group of second and third-year students heard about the benefits of becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA) and were introduced to the Institute of Chartered Accountants new web site ‘Fly Higher'.
The ‘Fly Higher’ web site shows students how to get the job they want on graduation with detailed information about the CA Pathway.
Partners Laurence Manning and Adam Parrish, and Accountant John Williamson of Taits Accountants visited the campus and presented to the group of 30 students who are majoring in Accounting.
Sub-Dean of Business and Law Ms Jo Luck said the special presentation gave the students an opportunity to ask questions of qualified chartered accountants working in their field.
Accountant, John Williamson, a graduate from CQU Mackay, who is presently completing his CA program, outlined the structure of the program, which students can complete after graduation with a B. Business (Accounting) from CQU.
“Partner Laurence Manning also spoke to students regarding the opportunities available for CQU accounting students to work at Taits Accountants while they complete their degree either full-time or part-time, or on graduation from their accounting degree, “ Ms Luck said.
