Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Student mentors congratulated for hard work 

The Mentor and Leadership Program is congratulating its hard-working student mentors at a series of presentation evenings and lunches conducted at Mackay, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Emerald, Pomona and Sunshine Coast campuses.

PhotoID:2473 The Rockhampton Mentor Presentation Evening was held on Friday September 16 to congratulate student mentors for all the hard work they’ve put into the program over the past year.

Over 50 students, staff, and guests attended the evening at the Walter Reid Centre.

Certificates of appreciation were awarded to each student mentor.

One student from each faculty was awarded the prestigious Mentor of the Year Award. Students chosen as Mentors of the Year were nominated by their mentees as well as faculty staff.
