Time for Round B of the CQU/Industry Collaborative Grants Scheme

Applications are now invited to Round B of the CQU/Industry Collaborative Grants Scheme.

The CQU/Industry Collaborative Grants Scheme was established in 1998 to encourage active research collaboration between the University and eligible industry partners. Up to $10,000 will be provided for selected research projects that will attract matching funds from industry sources. The objective of the Scheme is to provide seed funding for future collaborative grant applications to external agencies. Funding will be offered from 1 July 2004.

The scheme is not intended to be used as a mechanism to provide top-up funds to grants awarded from other sources, according to the CQU Office of Reserch.

Selection criteria for the scheme include:.

- The degree to which the proposed research is original and innovative and characterised by scientific, theoretical or technical merit the potential of the project to lead to future collaborative work and external collaborative grants;.

- The soundness of the planning and methodology:.

- Evidence that the project is truly collaborative including joint development of the research proposal and evidence of firm commitments from the industry partner to support the project;.

- The level of contributions (cash and in-kind) from both the University and industry partner; the likelihood that there will be realisable outcomes;.

- And the research track record, relative to opportunity, and capability of the Chief Investigator(s).
