Central Highlands residents encouraged to have their say

Residents of the Central Highlands Regional Council (CHRC) area will be asked to share their opinions on issues affecting their community into the future when CQUniversity conducts a telephone survey targeting randomly-selected households during late November.

CHRC Mayor Peter Maguire said the survey was important.

"Council is committed to conducting these community surveys on a regular basis. The findings of the survey will provide us with knowledge that can be used to facilitate genuine positive outcomes for our community and help the Council to better understand the needs and wishes of people in our region," he said.

CQUniversity's Population Research Laboratory has been commissioned by the Central Highlands Regional Council to conduct the survey.

Population Research Laboratory Manager, Christine Hanley said the survey was a great way for people to get involved to ensure the issues they believed were important were given a voice.

"Participation by residents who are randomly selected to take part in the survey is highly important in ensuring that the results of the survey represent the views of the wider community," she said.

For more information about the survey please contact Christine Hanley of CQUniversity (07 4930 6335) or Janice Moriarty of the Central Highlands Regional Council (07 4982 8322).
