Tennis court project for Mackay

Federal Member for Dawson De-Anne Kelly has announced a $167,520 funding allocation for a tennis court project at CQU Mackay.

"Head of Campus Trevor Davison should be congratulated for his efforts in securing this funding, which will make a valuable contribution to the campus sporting facilities," Ms Kelly said.

"This announcement follows a Federal Government contribution of $5 million towards a mining simulation research and development centre (at the campus)."

The Australian Government will contribute to the tennis court project under Round 2 of the Voluntary Student Unionism (VSU) Transition Fund for Sporting and Recreational Facilities.

The Mackay project will involve construction of hard surface tennis courts with night lighting.
