Tickle appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor

Professor Kevin Tickle has been appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor & Executive Dean, Central Queensland University, Faculty of Business & Informatics through to 2011.
Kevin is a 21-year veteran of CQU. The former Dean of the Faculty of Informatics & Communications (2003-2005) was appointed Deputy Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Informatics in 2006, managing international partnerships and implementing Administrative and Academic restructures of the Faculty.

Professor Tickle, in his new role as PVC and member of the Vice Chancellor's Executive, takes on a wider whole-of-University role, providing Academic leadership and contributing to overall CQU strategic and operational plans.
Already, Kevin and the Faculty have developed their priorities: to enhance online and campus learning environments, develop more industry relevant products and research output.
Previous to joining the organisation, Kevin was a Senior Hydrologist in the Queensland Government. In 1987, he became a Lecturer in Statistics and Operations Research with the Department of Mathematics & Computing at the Capricornia Institute of Advanced Education.
He was appointed a Senior Lecturer in 1990, the Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computing in 1995, and the Head of the School of Mathematics and Decision Sciences in 1998. In 2001, he was appointed Acting Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Communications.
Hydrologist, Engineer and Statistician, Professor Tickle is a frequent contributor to symposiums, conferences and publications on education management, access and quality; probability and statistics; and water resources and management.
He has held and holds various memberships and Chairs with professional bodies and associations in the Computing, Engineering and Mathematics fields.
