Day 1 covered an introduction to the Tri Safe Management Systems Audit which consists of a three-tiered structured audit for employer, supervisor and employee. The objective of Tri Safe Management Systems Audit is to assist in establishing and maintaining effective systems to manage risks to the health and safety of staff, students and visitors arising from the nature of work performed, equipment, material, and substances used, and the work environment. Plans are underway for CQU to participate in this audit in the first half of 2005.

On Day 2, staff participated in an accredited Building Warden course, conducted by Queensland Fire & Rescue Services. This course covered legislation requirements, emergency control organisation, roles and responsibilities and use of fire fighting equipment.
