Indonesian journalist Seno Suyono, from the prestigious Tempo magazine, found links to home when he visited CQU Rockhampton recently.
One of the most direct links was to CQU HRM/Management lecturer Michael Muchiri, who was born in Kenya but attended the same university as Seno - Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia's oldest institution - on a student mobility program.

Seno also appreciated meeting Michael's wife Menik, also from Indonesia, and their Australian-born daughter Alycia.
He got to meet students from his homeland including MBA student Anastasia Pranadjaja who helped with translations throughout the visit.
CQU International Executive Officer Kathy Ramm, who hosted Seno, has thanked a range of people involved in his visit from areas as diverse as digital media, engineering, nursing, performing arts, biomedical sciences and the Institute for Sustainable and Regional Development.
"While his interest is predominantly in tourism, it was good to be able to provide wider information about CQU, as every person who knows and understands CQU will act as an ambassador for us in the future," Kathy said.
"In the afternoon, we arranged, as he requested, a visit to Dreamtime, and were lucky enough to catch the end of the cultural tour, and the throwing of boomerangs - at which Seno was very good.
"We managed also to squeeze in a visit to the Zoo at the Gardens for 15 minutes on the way to the airport, so he did get to see kangaroos and koalas."
