Golden Key celebrates 5 years at CQU

The Golden Key International Honour Society is this week celebrating 5 years of having a chapter at CQU, and its award of 'Silver Standing' within the global organisation.

Chapter president Constance Moore has arranged a celebration from 5pm Thursday, July 27, at the CQU Rockhampton Sacred Garden.

Ms Moore said the CQU chapter had accomplished an array of achievements, and continued to do so.

Each year, representatives from the CQU Chapter attend Golden Key Asia-Pacific and International Leadership Conferences, presenting CQU Chapter displays and workshops.

The CQU Chapter is involved in the Salvation Army's Christmas Appeal and Red Shield Appeal on an annual basis.

Each year, the Chapter supports and is involved in Cancer Council events such as Relay For Life, and the Leukaemia Foundation's Shave for a Cure.

With support from CQU Student Services, the CQU Golden Key Executive Committee provides a Student Assistance Fund for CQU students.

As part of Golden Key's Asia-Pacific national efforts, CQU Golden Key and Nulloo Yumbah have collaborated and are involved in providing academic awards to CQU's Indigenous students.

Through the CQU Student Association, CQU Golden Key is recognised as an academic club.

More generally, the CQU Chapter continues to recognise and encourage scholastic achievement and excellence among CQU students from all academic disciplines.
