Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Former Gladstone resident gets Faculty Medal 

Former Gladstone resident Glen Hooley received a Faculty Medal during last Saturday’s CQU Gladstone graduation ceremony.

PhotoID:1496 Mr Hooley completed his schooling at Chanel College before heading to CQU Rockhampton to complete a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education double degree.

He is now an English teacher at North Rockhampton High School.

Mr Hooley’s family is still in Gladstone and his sister was also among the graduates at last Saturday’s event.
