CQU journalism lecturer Helen Ester's research features in The Bulletin magazine's current feature on how 'the Canberra press gallery is being squeezed by media-savvy politicians'.
The Bulletin edition, out this week, has a large front-page pointer to an edited extract from Ms Ester's chapter from a new book, 'Silencing Dissent: how the Australian government is controlling public opinion and stiflying debate'.
Ms Ester was a member of the Canberra press gallery from 1976 to 1982 and has interviewed many of the current members of the press gallery for her research.
