Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Rocky artists' work on show 

An exhibition of works by Rockhampton artists is on display at CQU until 16 October.

The Rockhampton branch of the Royal Queensland Art Society, in conjunction with the University, is staging the exhibition in the Appleton Gallery in building 5 at the Rockhampton campus.

PhotoID:298 Vice-Chancellor Professor Glenice Hancock opened the exhibition titled “Pigments of the Imagination” on Wednesday.

This is the first time the society has held this exhibition at the University.

Rockhampton branch president Coral Morris was excited about the new venue for this year’s display.

All the works will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm daily and will be offered for sale.
