Seriously superb Sunday

This Sunday March 26 marks the beginning of the Sunday Series for 2006 at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM); and it’s anything but serious.

Commencing at 3pm, in the CQCM Theatre, this popular student concert series has become a welcome feature of the annual events program and offers great music and entertainment within a relaxed, comfortable setting.

PhotoID:3037 This Sunday’s concert will feature instrumentalists, singers and some of the new CQCM ensembles including the premiere performance of the trumpet quartet ‘Blaze’ and one of the CQCM jazz combos.

The most exciting addition to this first concert will undoubtedly be the premiere performance by the newest CQCM staff member Mark Gasser; who will play a dazzling concert work by Ravel.

Also performing will be the CQCM jazz big band ‘A-Train’, the newly formed ‘Con Singers’ and some of the singers from the Music Theatre degree.

Following the concert you will be entertained by singers performing everything from pop to country while you relax, sip your wine and enjoy the fresh pizza.

It’s a superb way to spend your Sunday afternoon.

Tickets cost $10 for Adults and $5 for students, and include refreshments. The Sunday Series is sponsored by the Con Friends who support the students of CQCM through financial aid and moral support.

Why not become a friend of the Con? You will receive discounts to all concerts and events at the CQCM and help to support the artistic development of our talented young performers.
