Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

St Patrick's Day celebration 

Staff on the Rockhampton Campus gathered for a St Patrick's Day function sponsored by Facilities Management and the Vice-Chancellor and President's Directorate. 

Staff used the occasion to dress up and donate money to the Relay for Life event being held on the grounds of the Rockhampton Campus on 21 & 22 May.

Winners of the Lucky door prizes were Jan Davis - Dinner for two at Cassidy's Restaurant, Sandra Elder - two movies tickets and Anne Guthrie - $25 Bookshop voucher.

Special thanks were given to Geoff Black, from Facilities Management, for his hand-made ‘baton' which was formally handed over to the hosts of the next event - Financial Services and ITD.
